Our Approach
We need more tools for conservation. Market-based solutions. Landscape-scale approaches. Collaboration.
We need approaches that value natural resources and reward conservation and stewardship.

Sara Brodnax created Natura Consulting to provide an outlet for her ideas and expertise in conservation, and a path to leave our landscapes better than we found them.
Meet Sara
Sara Brodnax is an independent consultant offering perspective and expertise on conservation and policy issues including ecosystem services and market-based solutions. She primarily works with non-profits and foundations.

Sara was formerly the Senior Manager, State Policy and Partnerships for the Ecosystems program at the Environmental Defense Fund. Sara worked with experts and on-the-ground partners to develop and implement mechanisms and policies to advance conservation and stewardship of working lands. Her efforts to manage species using innovative tools like habitat exchanges took her from Washington, DC to Laramie, Wyoming.

Prior to EDF, Sara worked as the Director of Analysis at the Clark Group, a DC-based environmental consulting group. She analyzed policy and environmental implications to provide strategic advice for decision-making with a focus on agriculture, ecosystem services, and market-based incentives.

Sara tries to spend as much time as possible in wide open landscapes with her husband and young son.
